I have a 412 that I love the sound of, but I'm thinking about going back to a 212 for practicality purposes.

I've played an orange 212 and liked it, but I'm not sure if anyone has ever compared it to a Vader 212. Both are similar in size, and even if one is bigger it is probably not by much.

These were the two that came to my head first, predominately due to the fact that I already played -and liked- the orange 212.

    Thanks all! :wavey:

edit: I will be using it for mostly hard rock/metal

Orange, hands-down. I've played the Vader 2x12s and although they are still sweet for metal, the Orange is more versatile and IMO would do better if you're going for both metal AND rock. Plus, to my ears the Orange has a much less "plastic" (for lack of a better word to describe it?) feel to it. I've had an Orange 4x12 and a Vader 4x12 and I actually just ended up buying another Orange 4x12. Their cabinets simply cannot be beat, again IMO. :D

+1 for the orange from me. Picked one up a little while ago and it does sound HUGE. I know it would put some 4X12's to shame.

You ever going to change your avatar?

I'd go with Orange, if that's what you tried and that's what you liked. Don't risk buying something blindly.

I appreciate the offer, but I have all the sons & daughters I'll ever need, thank you very much. :) Son #2 got most of his guitar and bass rigs by trading in stuff for it. Some of it was gifts from me - but very well deserved gifts.
