Fender Telecaster which was a present, it was cool and everything and I love the maple neck. But the 21 frets and 2 single coils weren't for me.

More words here is more words.

The 6-string I played before I stepped up to 7s as my main axes? Hmmm.

That would be my modified white Peavey Predator & my Yamaha acoustic. By 97, I had stepped up to an Ibanez UV7BK.

Fast forward to 2001...both my 7-strings (Ibanez UV777BK & ESP) were stolen. My backup was the Trans. Green Steinberger. Due to a layoff, I was broke & couldn't afford to buy replacement 7s. The Steinie turned out to be a beloved instrument. About 2 years later, I was back on my feet with an RG7620 in hand. Then, a BCRich, then an ESP, then some Schecters, then an Ibanez, back to Schecter, then currently back to Ibanez. Hopefully, the cycle has been broken.

Yeah, the Predator actually played very well. I especially loved the SD Hot Rail I had it the bridge. GREAT sounding pup. Why'd I get rid of it? Well, a friend of mine was convinced I would be famous one day. I traded him my Predator (which he made me autograph) for his top-o-the-line pair of JBL home stereo speakers & a Cd player. Who made out on that deal?
