I tried 9's for a week.

Albeit on my sixxer. No thanks. Just too damn thin, not enough bite and not enough feel. I don't know how you guys can play these things.

My own problem with 9s isn't so much the floppiness, but I always feel like I'm going to break them...they just feel weak. My main 6 has 13-64 right now...that's a bit better.

Bari strings, eh? I ran those for almost a year on my C1, fucking loved them, but ended up going back to 11's so I could use it as my main six. They're definitely a lot of fun though.

9's can have plenty of bite and feel IMO, I guess it could depend on many factors (rig, picks, technique, etc). I prefer thicker wound strings than found on 9s, but when I've had 9's it's sounded just fine. That being said, on some guitars it can be too floppy, where on others it can be fine. I've had guitars with 9's tuned down to D standard and it was awesome, and others where it was lame. Lately I've been preferring 10-56 though. I don't like the plain steel strings to be thicker than 10s though, it feels too stiff otherwise.

It's actually the bottom 5 strings of a 10-46 set, with a 64 single on the bottom. It's in C standard though, not E, but it's still nice and tight :p

I'm currently running a hybrid set. 9-46 w/ a 56, but I wanna bump that to a 60.

Well I don't think you could tune 13's to standard without reinforcing your neck with a piece of 3" steel.

10-68 in down one step on a baritone. Cant imagine anything better \m/

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.
