Ah, those USRGs have always been on my dream guitar list. I always forget to look for those.

Get a PGM and paint over the f-holes. That'd be cool

Looks like a standard Ibanez headstock to me.

there have been a number of Prestige hardtail RG's, all available in Japan but never the states. The RG421 (which I own) is the closest they ever got to the States. But owning two Prestige guitars, it's still *not quite* there, neck-wise.

I was of the exact same mindset as you Donnie.
I dont like Bound Fingerboards but after setting up my Rg3Ex1 (a glorified 321 wiht a quilt top...) it actually plays as fast as my 1527 and 550 and has awesome sustain.

For $280 you can't beat a rg321 - Who knows sooner or later you may find a prestige neck on evil bay and could swap it out...

I've looked at those RG3EX1's. Nifty little guitars.

I hate to dog on the Indonesian stuff, but it's worth playing and inspecting before buying. I played a couple at one GC, and they were great. I played one at another GC and you could fit a credit card between the neck and the pocket, and the workmanship overall was shoddy. The sustain was so bad it was like having built-in palm muting.
