Is £250 a good deal on a Nightswan?

I'm'a be honest, I have absolutely no prior knowledge whatsoever of Kramers, other than the fact that they definitely appeal to my love of 80s guitars!

I know a couple of people on here own some of the rarer models, so figured it'd be as good a place as any to ask about them. My local music store (where I used to work, so always get discounts ) very rarely has many particularly nice guitars in stock, but there's a used Nightswan in there at the moment I'm very tempted by.

It's in pretty decent nick apart from a spot of rusting/tarnishing on the Floyd. No crazy finish, unfortunately, just a solid blue, but I'm having trouble trying to work out what model it is. Has obviously been slightly modded, as it's got an S-S-H config with some kind of dual-blade style Dimarzio in the neck position, a singlecoil EMG in the middle and an EMG 'bucker in the bridge. Will try and get the serial next time I'm in there.

Anyway, point being I'm seriously GASing for a nice shreddy sixer at the moment after having finally realised that the band I'm in are never going to adjust to extended range (but are otherwise too much fun to even think about quitting), and I was particularly struck with this one!

So... Any opinions?

Sorry for double post, but just stumbled across this pic:

So, I think it's fairly safe to say it's a Nightswan II. And by God why are they so damn hot?

£250 is a good price if its in good condition. Its going to be very difficult to avoid some level of tarnishing on guitars of that age and as long as the playability is up to the looks it should be fine.

In fact, at that price you could treat it as a project guitar and slowly customise it to your own twisted specifications - heck, two EMG's are worth a substantial portion of that cash so just check the knife edge on the bridge and make sure you're not to replace anything expensive in the short term out of neccessity.

Yeah, the playability is what instantly turned me onto it - having just got used to the 30" scale on my 8-string, the 24.75" scale on this thing is an absolute joke, haha. Set up beautifully and just horrendously easy to play.

Thanks for the input man, I appreciate it! Forgot to mention in the first post that considering my loyalty-based discount I'm sure I could get this for about £200, which makes it all the more tempting. Would see how well I can get along with the EMGs and otherwise I might have to see what all this Blackout hype is about...

Literally the only thing that's stopping me from walking over there and buying it right now is the fact that I think my mother would turf me onto the streets and rent my room out if I were to come home with it... Especially after having just got my 8-string, . Now maybe if I cook dinner for the next couple of days and generally be a smarmy git... Gotta be worth a try!
