I may be saving some cash to get a trem for it, and then may invest ina decent bridge pickup as well :p

But yeah, it is a bit fucked, and i thinks is missing the control cavity plate as well, but am not sure...

oh, and the shit looking green pickup is one that got painted, while drunk, and during my first student stint, just to see whatt it would look like with shit dayglo bits...
Lol. It looks like someone poured acid on it instead.

Zoinks! That neck looks bad. I don't think there is much hope for it.

Yeah, it is a bit screwed... Wonder if it's worth even stripping the HW and selling it all on ebay at super reduced prices AND saying the neck is fuxored...

Still, i told you guys a while ago that this guitar was pretty fucked!

Um, little bit o' a twist to that there neck...

Eh, who knows though, maybe it'd straighten up under string tension... But, since that involves buying a bridge to find out, that's an expensive "maybe."

I've had an idea. I'll bring some lighter fluid with me on Sunday and we'll give it the Hendrix treatment. Then just hang it on the wall and tell everyone it's art. Hell, you might even be able to sell it to the Tate Modern.

I can fix it.
My dad, he's a TV repair man. He's got an AWESOME set of tools.
I can fix it.

James- my suggestion would be to part it out and look for a black 550/570 and re-refinish it like that one.
- Take tons of pics of it.
- Use some GooGone to remove the stickers (CAREFULLY!!!!). Plastic scraper or razor blade works good. Let the GooGone work it's magic and be patient.
- Clean off the backs of the stickers as best you can of all GooGone and adhesive remnants (aka- booger balls).
- Use some 3M spray adhesive to re-apply the stickers to the new body in their original locations using the pics as reference.

"Thank YOU, Jim Day!"

Does sound like an idea, although i'd feel guilty about parting it out, even though it will be specified that the neck is in a bad way.

Trouble is, it's more the maple neck i want that the actual guitar (and some of the lurid stickers)

But that does indeed sound like the best plan.

The Furious One is on a distinguished road
Yeah it's bad, but fixable...if you want to spend the money. The frets will have to be pulled, the board will have to planed(flattened) re radiused and refretted. You're looking at a pretty costly adventure just to make the neck playable. But if it's what you want and it suits ya, then gopher it.
