Hungering for a strat
I've wanted a nice beat up strat for years, either sunnburst or olympic white with a maple neck... it's currently driving me nuts, it really is! But does anyone know which neck profiles are either C or D shaped? I know some have a V shape which i can't stand...

And is it worth it? I pretty much know I'll have to look for ages to find the one that sounds right, but it's just one of those things. An itch.

Now if only that nice strat down denmark strret wasn't 25k...

I own a Mexican made Strat, it's white with a maple neck, though I don't play it much, it's nice to have and it sounds good...I think every guitarist should have a Strat in their arsenal.

strats are weird. Play a ton of them, you'll know the right one when you find it.

i iknow, it's all about finding the right one Problem is, i do want a used broken in one as i hate buying new I just love the look of a broken in guitar, and they just play really nicely as well! And Drew, yep, it's the 7. It's still there, still absolutely gorgous and still calls my name. If i knew i had the money I'd actually buy it despite it being sensible to buy a house or something

I hate strats, but I loved my 98' Yngwie model (vintage white/maple). It was really nice quality with figuring all over the maple neck. I think part of why I liked it better than any other strat was greatly because of the huge fretwire....and SCALLOPS!

you can use it for a really unique metal sound too it's not everybody's cup of tea but i've learned to love the sound of single coils through heavy metallish distortion.

That's actually a pretty typical response for strat haters who've been open minded enough to play a bunch of them. They're definittely not everyone's cup of tea, but there's enough variety in the line that, if you get a good one that's been tweaked in a way that appeals to you, it's a hell of a guitar.

I should post up some clips of mine, I love the tone.
