We understand you love basswood, we get it, we don't have to hear it every time a basswood hater says they hate basswood, it gets old. All of the best tones ever were made on guitars made of real wood, not fence posts.

A little bit of both, but mostly I'm just an asshole. There is no reason to make a thread to tell the basswood haters to shove it either, yet that one exists. By the way, you're kind of an asshole yourself

Ah, but the key difference is a basswood lover doesn't go around deriding other tonewoods at every opportunity. Even in the other thread, there is only the defence of basswood.

Actually, the other thread makes more sense. There's a lot of senseless basswood bashing that goes on around here, and there's no real reason for it. If you prefer another wood, fine. If you don't like basswood at all, fine. There's nothing inherently wrong with basswood, though. The basswood bashing makes about as much sense as people saying ash sucks because they prefer mahogany. This thread, however, perpetuates the nonsense. :p

People can ditch on basswood, Its just a slightly dryer sound. I've heard people say crazy shit like "blaze pickups sound shit in basswood" but the wham bam man Rutan used Blazes + Basswood in his UV and 7620 for Gateways

But yeah, I honestly dont mind my Ibanez being made of basswood, Its not worth 350 dollars for a mahogany replacement to be made when I dont care enough for the slightly warmer and darker tone of mahogany.

Im not being overly serious by the way...
