HammerAndSickle is a jewel in the rough
Kinda-sorta-NGD - sweet Samick artists (not 56k safe)

So, my dad used to collect guitars. Lots and lots of guitars. He doesn't play anymore, so he's been trying to sell them (now he collects cars - more expensive hobby for sure ) but he still has two or three dozen guitars of all kinds sitting around. Every once in a while he'll go out into the garage and get one to show to me, but since they've been out there unserviced for years most of them are unplayable. Well, they just need a good setup that I'm not able to give them

Anyway, we just moved, so a few days ago we moved the whole load of guitars from the other house to here. There's barely any space in the basement for them, so we kinda moved them back assembly-line style, but I tried to pop open the cases to look at them as they went by. This one absolutely floored me, though. I've been wanting to try out a guitar with a Floyd Rose for ages, and this one is just so gorgeous that I had to ask him to let me try it.

It's got a very thin body, at least a half-inch thinner than my RG. It's so incredibly comfortable to play, as well: the neck carve is the thinnest I've ever seen. Ebony fretboard, gold hardware, some really really nice figured woods, gold pearl binding, abalone dot inlays... its such a sweet guitar. The pickups are so-so Duncan Designed, a humbucker, single coil, and a dual-rail neck single. The electronics must be a little faulty as well because it hisses and pops sometimes. The licensed Floyd is pretty bad, as well. It's stiff, and the top three strings go out of tune whenever I bend, but it's so comfortable to play I can't believe it.

It has a twin, as well, that he let me play, with a strat-style bridge and two humbuckers. I don't like this one as much: thicker body and neck, plus I don't get to play with the trem as much but it's certainly heavier sounding. All in all, I've always thought of Samick as a cheap knockoff company (as that was my first guitar, a Samick strat knockoff) but these models are just gorgeous examples of luthiery

And some small family shots (plus the side of my RG7321)

Do you know what the models names are of both of those? And what they're worth?

I absolutely love my Greg Bennett/Samick telecaster, very fine piece of axe, and I'm sure yours are just as awesome!

I'm assuming he's going to want to mass produce these rack pies, and why not? I love racks, I love pies, so put them together and you have pie covered titties. - JJ
