Tele overhaul...

Well I have a purple mexican tele, that at the moment has a white plate, chrome tuners, bridge etc etc....
Am going to re-do the whole guitar with black hardware, black plate etc...have sourced a few related items on e-bay and other places, but what I can't decide on is a board colour....I'm going for a new neck because I have a serious 2nd fret wear down and would only be beneficial to get a full re-fret

.. A nice fat stacked humbucker is going in the nice, new black bridge plate

I'm not bothered if it says fender on the headstock, but the point is for the colour scheme, am interested in your opinions as to go for a dark fretboard or a light one....I don't mind playing on either, this is purely down how you think it would LOOK...
I get called upon quite regularly to step in with a country rock band, which is why I'm concentrating on getting this tele back up and running, (ok, they pay me a nice wad of money for it too)

I say get a neck with an ebony or rosewood fret board dyed black! It would look killer with all the other changes your making to it!

Ye,,,after seeing what Loktide has done to his ibby neck....it looks the dog's danglies.....just worried a bit about the whole black fingers malarkey lol.....awaiting payday....will take some before and after pics when I can

Just need to source those awesome looking black strings now lol

if you get an ebony board you dont have to worry about that

Very true m8, but I have to be able to afford the other bits too...ebony board is a bit out of my range atm....I'm not looking to spend more than about £80 in total, if that.....

i was looking at this Moses Graphite Neck Fender Telecaster Tele NEW! on eBay, also Guitar Parts, Parts Accessories, Guitar, Musical Instruments (end time 21-Jun-08 12:44:09 BST) but a little past my budget lol...

One last question: would a lefty neck fit?..For some reason I feel like having an upside down headstock for that "bizarre" look
