NGD: Agile PS-924WE Amber Flame

I've had GAS for a little while for something PRS'ish, but the upper end PRS guitars are just WAY too expensive for my taste and the SE series really didn't cut it in the playability department. After that I decided to take a look at Rondo as I've had really good luck with their instruments and found this:

Agile PS-924WE Amber Flame at HomeOld

I fought the GAS for a few days, but finally gave in and ordered one Sunday As with my other guitars, it plays fantastically well. I haven't had a chance to play it plugged in yet, but it sounds great unplugged. The pickups will be getting swapped out for a custom wound set of humbucker size P-90s from Vintage Vibe Guitars. I'll post another thread in the pickups section when I get them.

Nice. Is that a Wilkinson trem?

I was just looking at these the other day, too, especially that one TimSE posted. Wish that one was available in non-Floyd form.

TemjinStrife is a jewel in the rough
I was seriously considering ordering a seven-string hardtail version of one of those root-beer colored PRS guitars before the 828s became a reality...

Also, to each their own... but I wouldn't scoff at the playability on PRS SEs. I have a Tremonti SE and the thing plays and sounds beautifully completely stock (aside from having a rather beefy neck, which I prefer but many don't.)

damn Steve, your pics make that guitar look SO much better than the ones on Rondo's site . it always looked really cheap looking to me before, but that's definitely not the case at all. Agile's are just full of win.

Yup, it's a Wilkinson trem. I wasn't very big on the rootbeer color

I played two SE Customs and an SE Singlecut. There wasn't anything wrong with them at all, but they weren't particularly impressive either. The Agile blows the PRSs away for ~$200 less.

Yeah the pics on the Rondo site definitely don't do this model justice. It was actually photos of some other people that had this model in different colors that made me decide to take the plunge and pick this up. Now that I have it, I'm happy that I did. It's another one of those Agiles that would be worth it at twice the price or more
