If only it didnt have the finished neck!

Looks awesome, though I too have never seen such a crap piece of rosewood on a new Ibanez. Looks fantastic now!

You really don't notice it. It doesn't stick like other manufacturer's painted necks tend to.

Looks great loktide. The MTM2 is a fucking stellar guitar, but I've said it before and seen it on several guitars - the rosewood quality just isn't there. It's always so pale and anaemic looking...

Stellar work!

You did a great job with the dying dude. Definitely agree that it looks way better now.

Loktide that looks so awesome now, that is one beast of a guitar you have there!

So what affect does dying have on the rosewood, ie can you still lemon-oil it with no probs, does it impact on the drying-out process etc?

Question

I have a question:

Does this dye stay in the wood for ever after it’s applied, or it does wear off and has to be renewed periodically?

The dye is made on an alcohol/oil basis so it soaks in the wook. Pretty much like when applying lemon oil.
And yes, you can still regularly oil the fretboard. You can see the fresh oil shiny board in one of the pics where i'm holding the bare neck.

it soaks in the wood, so it's pretty much irreversible. But i honestly don't know if it'll start fading after intense usage. I hope not
