New guitar day !!! (56k: 'seven' inlay)

I scored this guitar last week on ebay for 370 € from a music shop that was selling it as a mint condition demo model. Score!

First impression: it definitely looks and feels like an high-end ibanez! I wasn't expecting too much from an indonesian ibanez, but this guitar is definitely an incredible deal in comparison to the current more expensive ibanez's. As expected, the stock ibanez PUs sound like crap, but i already ordered an EMG81 and am looking to score an EMG89 on the bay since they're so fucking expensive new (roughly a third of what i payed for the guitar, lol).

The only downside on this guitar is that the fretboard wood looks rather cheap. It's also really dry, so i'll see what some oiling can do about it.

anyway, here are the obligatory shots:

edit: here's the trussrod cover after repainting it:

You know, I thought that looked hot, until I got to the back pic. Painted neck bolt-on, wtf?

i actually don't mind the feel of painted necks at all. But the fact they painted a bolt-on neck is plain useless...

yeah.

i really don't care for slipknot. But this guitar is actually everything i would want on a 6-string ibanez except a ebony fretboard and neck-thru.
The only signs of it being a sig model is the 'seven' truss-rod cover and the signature on the electronics cover plate on the back.

Nice score! I like that model... tried it and thought it was a great sixer. And it has the mandatory reverse headstock...
