i managed to get rid of the stupid-ass 'seven' logo on the trussrod-cover by sanding it off and repainting:

Nice score man and nice job on the truss rod cover.

Just like everyone has said, the guitar would look sweet with a dyed board.

I'd personally sand the painted neck. I'm not a painted neck fan, and it'd definately be easier to do since it's a bolt on. But that's just me.

This is one of the best looking signature models Ibanez has. This being 2nd. The PGM301wh being first. Reverse headstocks own.

thx man!

i actually ordered some black oil-based dye and will be 'ebonizing' the fretboard soon.

as for the painted neck, i love it. Of course it feels different, but i like it a lot. Apples and oranges, i guess.

Dude, painted necks rule, when you start to sweat it acts as lube. Unpainted gets sticky if they dint have a clear coat on them. Dont strip it.

Yea I think a dye job on that fretboard would look awesome, post picks when you do it..

"and I sure as shit don't fucking roll! Shomer shabbos!"

Nice one man. I'm getting Bare Knuckle Warpigs for my RG321 and they'll be only about £2 less than the guitar itself cost!

I like the look of MTM2s, if I had one I would just get rid of the truss rod cover altogether, have the pickups replaced and the neck sanded.

...i've always found painted necks to be the complete oposite. Not only do painted necks look crap, they play crap. Strip it. JMO.

BTW, congrats ! That bridge looks impressive.

That's pure nonsense right there, could not be further from reality. You must not have played many good painted-neck guitars dude, because the majority of ones I own/owned were as smooth as silk and played flawlessly. Perhaps you're thinking of Gibsons or other guitars that have sticky awkward painted necks?

I'm just not a fan of painted necks, i like to feel the wood of the neck, i also love the look of an unpainted neck.

...i have played some decent painted necks, the best being a Jackson RR1, and still it felt wrong. Maybe to say they were crap was a bit strong but i just don't like them.

It varies, painted necks. A good painted neck will feel fine. A shit painted neck will feel like shit. The MTM2 plays fine.

Fun fact: Every new Gibson's neck I tried, I've hated. Then I tried my friend's 10yr old Gibson- amazing neck. Felt kinda weird though, kinda like a build-up of oldskin... but it was smooth, really "broken-in".

holy fuck!
