Jackson Snowblind Soloist!

My patience trying to deal with the custom shop on my SLS order is basically out - it has been two months since I put in the initial quote, and still there is no final work order and it consistently is coming back with the same mistakes (at an average turnaround time of about two weeks).
So I'm tempted to say fuck it and just pick up one of the custom shop Snowblind soloists instead. Some sites say its 24.75" scale and mahogany neck & body - Matt says it is standard scale and maple neck and alder wings. Either way, its mighty tempting. And the price is right, too. Although I'd be ditching the pickups for Bareknuckles as soon as I got it..

IMHO, that's not different enough from a regular SL2H to bother with Custom Shop pricing. Those are going for about $3000 from eBay sellers, which is over $1000 more than an SL2H. I do like the color scheme, though. If it had mahogany, that might be a different matter.

I understand your frustration with the Custom Shop order process, though. There are a lot of complaints on the JCF about the whole custom order process, including guitars arriving with the wrong specs. Part of the problem is having to go through a dealer for everything rather than being able to talk to Jackson reps directly.

White EMGs are awesome looking. Too bad you have to Krylon Blackouts to get the same effect.

Matt's price is much lower than $3,000 but its still a pretty good premium over a SL2H. I'm also going to ask him about order time & cost on a Quicksilver SL2HT - I prefer hardtails, and quicksilver is a very nice finish.

I would like that guitar with a maple board and some shark inlays. Scalloped, naturally. It's nice, though.
