Question Help!

Hey guys,

I have decided I really wanna pull the trigger on an Edwards Black Beauty, as I have heard nothing but good things about them on this site and have wanted a Les Paul guitar for a while....

There are two ebay auctions open for this here in Australia at the moment that are selling basically the same thing, and I wanted you guys opinion on which sounds better....

2007 Edwards E-LP-98LTC Classic Clone black & beautifl - eBay, Electric, Guitars, Musical Instruments. (end time 04-May-08 16:16:03 AEST)

or

EDWARDS ( ESP) LES PAUL CUSTOM Crafted in Japan NITRO - eBay, Electric, Guitars, Musical Instruments. (end time 30-Apr-08 06:51:00 AEST)

There are advantages and disadvantages to both.

With the first auction, this is a used guitar with no warranty, those knobs sure ain't factory and there is no pickguard (I asked). I am also a bit concerned about the guys feedback rating.

With the second auction, the guitar is new, all original (non-matching silver knobs and all!) and comes with a 1 year limited warranty. BUT it is $350 more! And I would probably buy the typical Les Paul gold top hat knobs that are on the first guitar anyways.

My budget can pay for the second auction, but that price difference is niggling me a lot. But so is the other guy's feedback comments.

Your thoughts guys?

Edit: sorry Mods, I saved before I realised the title ain't very informative... could this be changed to "Help, edwards ebay auctions" or something? cheers!

Well the bidding has ended for the bottom one so... the top one?

Looks like a nice guitar though. Have you tryed American auctions? You could probably get it cheaper even when factoring in shipping, and it shouldn't be more than a 100US if youre buying from some kind of business/shop.

I don't know what happened there!

I originally typed that the second auction did end but he gets those ones in all the time for that standard price... there will prob be another one there in a couple of days. I will have to hunt around on ebay for some yankee edwards and see what the price is like... thanks for the suggestion!

No worries I just bought a John Petrucci Music Man used from the states for $1140 AU. Thats including shipping which was only $97 US which is just over 100 Aus. They're $2888 new here.

It was just an auction on US ebay. I stayed up till 7AM to bid haha. I haven't got it yet so I haven't been slapped with the import dutys yet and I AM a bit worried about that just because it was over 1000 bucks. And apparently over 1000 theres a jump in the fee's, which is gay because it was 1040 aus all up I'll let you know how much it ends up running me. If your buying someone under a grand it wouldn't worry me.

Yeah there is a good thread on here somewhere that me and some other contributed to about importing guitars into Australia for over $1000. I couldn't search for it as I got an error but you might wanna see how you go. I have bought quite a few guitars from the US but they have all been under $1000...

Even after GST/Import duties that's an awesome price!
