Sudden 24 fret S Series GAS

Maybe it's the fact that I've just gotten into BTBAM and Paul Waggoner, but all of a sudden, I'm really craving an S series. I've always sort of dug them anyway, but some of the new models are just drool worthy. Case in point:

IBANEZ 2008 SV5470F Natural Blue 6-String Electric Guitar

First off, has anyone seen the other 24 fret S prestige guitars for sale? I can't find the one with the locking trem, although I must admit, this might be JUST what I'm looking for. $1300 is really not that bad (I don't think...), because I remember when they were first leaked on the Japanese site and everyone was freaking with their online currency converters out because they thought these would be around $1700.

To anyone with or having played an S series (even though I have, I just don't remember so well), is the tone good? Does the thin body rape that good ol' mahogany tone, or is it still there?

Justified GAS? Unjustified? Either way, it's there. I know I want my next guitar to be somewhat of a shredder guitar, and have a trem (because I already have three guitars without a trem, so really what would be the point?).

The GAS strikes...

That's nice. Though, I wish it was either just the one inlay at the 12th fret or all small dots. It looks weird with both, IMO.

RIP MIKE

I agree, but I think it's far from a ruiner

im holding off to see which they release first, a 24 fret S7 or a RGA7, both would be awesome but it is ibanez so i've got my fingers crossed that they even bother with one

I love the S series, in terms of raw playability and tone, I still reckon that the 22 fret S prestige I had was THE best guitar I've ever owned. If I had the cash and could justify spending it to get a new one, I would! (and, the JB sounds incredible in the bridge, IME)

All the Prestige S's appear to have 24 frets now, but I haven't seen them for sale anywhere, just on Iby's USA site.

As for playing them; I've had an MIJ SC (slightly shorter scale) for 10 years now, and it's a fantastic guitar. Really warm and different sounding than my other guitars (JS, RG).

It's cheaper because of the trem.
