Floyd Rose question

whats up, i recently got an Ibanez S 470 for free from a friend of mine that hasnt played since middle school. It has some cosmetic damage as well as an issue with the floyd rose, the whole bridge part is missing and i was wondering if anyone could help me figure out how to replace that or if it would be too much of a pain in the ass to put a different type of bridge in there? any info would be appreciated, thanks

Ibanez were making floyd equipped S series guitars in Korea in 1960? .

might wanna run that serial # again.

the S470 has a ZR trem that can be purchased aftermarket if i'm not mistaken.

EDIT: that serial # would tell me the guitar was made in '06

1960?!?! hah amight wanna double check that
im not 100% but dont most older ibanez's have a date between the neck and body where it bolts on?

i think the ZR trems are fairly new
prob newer than the guitar if ur friend has had it for a while

my guess would be one of the low-pro trems

ya i just went to a website and typed in the serial number and thats what it said about the date, it sounded odd to me as well so im glad you guys said something, some people say the first two numbers of the serial are the year made or something apparently. anyways i was wondering what the possibilities of not having a floyd rose and changing the bridge were im pretty new at messin with guitars so is that even possible, thanks again for the help and pardon my lack of common knowledge haha. heres a few pics

hmmm a new bridge is possible but it could involve much woodfilling and redrilling and really u just have to know wat ur doing..
personaly i get a replacment floyd

what you could try is just buying a Low-pro floyd replacement and put it in the guitar see if it fits
if it doesnt sell it and with that money try the ZR trem

if say the low-pro doesnt fit but is close to fitting you could maybe ask a repair guy/shop to set it up for the new trem

i upgraded a trem on an old guitar years ago and had to have it sorted out and redrilled and everything

that guitar is def worth keeping i think so ya id just get it sorted and my best advice it try that ^^^

im def not a fan of the floyd rose thats why im asking, i will more than likely just buy a replacement floyd and take it to my guitar guy, i was just hoping this could be a project guitar that i could sand down and repaint and mess with

hmm well if ur not a floyd fan then its possible
espesh if u want it as a project guitar

sand it all down
have the floyd hole filled with that liquid-wood stuff
then u have room to put in almost any bridge u like - but ul have to make sure you get the scale lenth spot on
youd wanna have it repainted tho

if u wanna guitar to play then id get a replacment floyd and put up with the floyd.
if ud rather a project guitar without a floyd then do the project opption.
ul deff wanna look into gettin it all done right if u choose the project option tho... itl be totally worth it for sho
