Brainkrieg is a jewel in the rough
Hey all...early KxK?

I know this isn't a 7 (and this is sevenstring.org ) but I thought some of you guys might be interested in a little bit of grassroots stuff. I haven't posted before, but all the KxK 7 string threads got me thinking this might be cool, seeing has how I might have done a little prep work on some of your guitars. I found out about this site through my buddy Wes (HAUCH) and then later I heard again through Rob Kaufman saying he'd been getting a lot of orders through here. This is a 6-er 2004 NAMM show guitar with 25 1/2 scale, EMG 85/81 with a PA2 booster, nitrocellulose laquer pearl white, mahogany neckthru and wings, and a rosewood fretboard. It's not a 7 string because, well, he was still a six string guy himself! Enjoy the pics!

I stuck this stupid thing on the hs then lost the wrench...

The back hs pic and this one are best indicative of the color. I've put a lot of hours on this thing and it actually used to be white. There are still white spots. Ask Wes about my, um, corrosive pH...

This is Rob's old neckjoint. He got so much crap over it just because it LOOKED clunky, but it was nearly possible to fret notes between the pickups, even with my sausage fingers.

...and the ultra-recessed Floyd. It's pretty cool to be able to lay my hand across the face of the guitar to palm mute and still not pull the strings sharp. Prior to this, I was used to TOM bridges and topmounted Floyds, so this thing was a fucking epiphony!

Well, that's all I've got. Any boogers you might see on there are either because of me or because it was a nitro laquered guitar (that shit sucks in pretty much every way except cool factor ) and the finish kept outgassing, even to this day. Regardless, Rob's stuff always had the best of the best, like dual carbon graphite reinforcement and double expanding truss rods, but I thought you might like to see the grandaddy of your sick 7s. I can say, without doubt, that while I love this guitar, the stuff he's putting out now is light years beyond mine!

...and don't even bother asking for this shape. It's too close to another well-known V. Believe me: I've tried.

That looks really nice! And I usually hate that kind of headstock, but it works pretty well.

Thanks guys. It's really tough to beat his quality and features to price ratio, even if mine's a little rough compared to the newer ones.

Nice guitar! I really like the look of it, especially with the black hardware!

Do you think you can post some pics of that explorer too? It looks badass with that white binding!!

That's really cool. I'm not a big fan of V's, myself, but that has a very classic look to it.
