Latest Steve Morse's EBMM

Hey guys!

Anyone tried one of those? I must say I'm tempted...I was told it's a great instrument, not really built to shred but hey, Steve Morse seems to shred anyway

I'd like to have one...GASing for a 6 it's something I'd like to avoid, so please tell me it's a huge piece of crap and I'll lie to myself agreeing with you.

I doubt it's a "huge piece of crap". ebmm makes very high quality instruments. Although I'm sure this model is quite expensive. Price anyone?

Um, I've played one. It is a shred machine, with insane amounts of tone, and perhaps the most comfy neck in existence.

And the DeepPurpleBurst looks awesome.

I know...I was just trying to pretend the opposite in order to NOT feed my probable GAS. I find IMMORAL to spend money for a 6

Honestly, I've played a few EBMMs, and they're all incredible. But tone-wise the Morse beat them all, especially in terms of versatility. It can do Strat, Tele, and LP sounds, and has enough clarity and bite when wound up to survive absurd amounts of gain while still "singing."

The only way an EBMM would be crap is if you dropped it off of a tall building, beside that they are great instruments!!

Haven't played one personally but a friend of mine had (has? haven't seen him in a while so I don't know if he moved it on or not?) one and raved about it being really versatile due to that crazy pickup configuration. He also said it takes a little while to get used to the toggle switches but once you understand what you're doing it's a really nice setup.

I saw one on eBay a while back in the Y2D in the purple sunset finish that just totally blew my mind! I kinda wish I had grabbed it but I wasn't sure if I liked EBMM guitars or not at the time since I hadn't played many of them. If the neck plays anything like the JP6 or the JP7 I don't think playability is an issue at all with those guitars! The one I saw was similar to this but the figuring in the quilt was even more insane:

That specific model is very pretty to say the least!

I played an older Morse model in sunburst. It was a smoooooth guitar, the neck at least.

The wiring scheme on the standard Steve Morse guitars is insane.

Yeah man that's what my friend was telling me too, but he said after a week or so you get used to it. I don't know if I could handle all those switches and toggles... it's like a Carvin and an old-school BC Rich had a baby!
