![]() | Bolt Guitars 100 series? (3 pics, large) I stumbled across this in a store in Quakertown, PA, ant it was so crazy, I decided I must have it. It's got a mahogany Superstrat body, pseudo-AANJ maple neck with ebony board, a Gotoh Floyd Rose (with a Kahler nut, no less) there's a coil-tap on the tone knob, and the bridge pickup sounds like crap (Duncan designed, who would have thought? The finish is apparently laser-etched, because the glossy patches are prismatic and appear different colors of the spectrum depending on how one looks at it/holds it to light I did some research, and it was made by a company in Allentown, PA, only had one production year ('91), it seems, and that they were all handmade there. Does anyone have any other information on these guitars at all? I paid $200 for it, and I'm VERY satisfied, but I'd like to know more about it ![]() ![]() ![]() --- "Appreciating the beauty in music fast enough to blow mortals' faces off." Rumor has it out of Kramer bits when they disappeared. I have the HH model. A fine hair guitar indeed! Mine came with crappy EMG passives, which have been replaced with Pearly Gates. ![]() ![]() Guitar Villa FTW! If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons? ![]() | I almost bought that same guitar you have! was it a the Quakertown Farmers Market? It is almost the twin brother to my bolt. The Vint Axe guy is a jerk, I paid to see the catalog & get a pass word and you cant even save the photos. They are poor scans anyway. I sent him some nice photos of my bolt guitar to post on his site and I have never seen them posted yet. Heres a link to a blog with some other bolt owners. Bolt Guitars We desperately need a web site / registry for these awesome guitars. It's the Worlds best Heavy Metal Guitar in my opinion, I've spent many hours practicing Iron Maiden songs on mine. I'll post some photos as soon as I can. I'm glad that guitar went home with a real musician instead of some dumb kid who would beat the he!! out of it and trash it. Good luck & Awesome find! ![]() | Found this on-line The Official Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide by Alan Greenwood, Gil Hembree 2006 Page 14 BOLT 1988-1991. Founded by luther Wayne Bolt and Jim Dala Pallu in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania, Bolt's first work was CNC machined OEM necks and bodies made for Kramer and BC Rich. In '90 they started building solidbody Bolt guitars, many with airbrushed graphics. Only about 100 to 125 were built, around 40 with graphics. Hope this helps, Jason |
