![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ibanez RG GAS- Help me out fellas! So thanks to a new obsession with Paul Gilbert I am once again gasin' for an Ibanez rg 6er. I want one with a maple board and so far the only one I have come across is the rg350mdx that i currently in production. So... a few questions any other recomendations? is Ibanez releasing any new maple board rg's for 08? How is the edge 3 bridge? I've heard good and bad. How is the quality for the 350? It is worth the 400 bucks? thanks guys. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | totally worth the 400 man. the edge 3 bridge is definately solid. while it may not hold quite as well as an original edge, its pretty damn good for a budget trem. Way better than any of the other cheaper licensed floyds i've seen. The fretwork is pretty good, the ends could use some tidying up typically but nothing bad. No new maple boarded RG's for 08, unfortunately. My brother had a white rg350dx a while ago, back when they had the loTRS bridge in em. He wore that out (the edge 3's last alot longer though, and he reaaaally uses teh trem ALOT), and got a lo pro for it that someone ordered in and didnt pay for, put some dimarzios in it, got it set up right with a fret crown etc, and it was rockin. One of the nicer 6es i've played, top 10 maybe. Totally worth the scrill. with that bridge too, you really only need to do a pup swap, and youre going strong Reverse Headstocks or Bust Dude...i just got a spam email that was titled "Funky date rape trick" -Zepp88 I just got another funny email "Her pussy smiled at me" -Zepp88 Don't tell me you haven't heard of Raptor Jesus It's important that you know this information :headnod: It will decide your fate when we are pwned. -JoeOvChaosI was going KAT KAT KAT KAT and you were going KAT... chk... KAT... chk-die. -TomAwesome |

![]() ![]() | Ugh.. seriously, the RGs below the 400 mark (the model name number) are just terrible. I bought a 350 from work as an Xmas present for someone since I got a great discount and the guitar was just terrible. The fretwork was atrocious and like cheap Ibanez, they need to be kept in check often. The Edge 3 is pretty crappy too and can't compare to the higher end Ibanez trems, but that's to be expected on a cheaper model. The quality.. it's nothing special. Okay, but nothing great. The only thing I thought was okay was the pickups, for being stock. Personally, I think you could spend the money on a much, much better guitar in that price range. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | For what they cost, I think they're a pretty good deal. Sure, some people are going to complain about the Edge 3 and how much it sucks, but I never had any issues out of it. If it really gets on your nerves that badly, you can directly swap it with an original Edge if you want. The pickups leave a little to be desired, but they're not bad for what you're paying. It's a good place to start, and then you can mod it however you want. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've seen some really good 350DXs and some really horrible ones. IMO, overall they are good investments though. Get one, +pickups +fretcrown and then you have a mad bitchin' guitar. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The fact that a few of you have said it would need a fret crown has turned me off. I thought I would see better quality from ibanez here. I guess everyone has been right in saying they aren't what they used to be. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ^I'd say so. Some Indos have pretty good fretwork all around (Xiphos, MTM2, V Blade) and you can get a good number of diamonds but unfortunately a lot of shits too. I've said it before, but I think Ibanez in the US gets a worse price:quality ratio compared to Hong Kong, since I think that we get Ibbies a bit cheaper here. The 350DX goes for 300ish here. Add about 250 for pickups and fretcrown maybe and IMO that's still a pretty good deal. But 400+250 isn't as good. |
