Thanks to the reissue 550's there has been a massive inflation on older or non-reissue 550's. I would love a second hand 550- for a reasonable price. i.e- 300-400. I refuse to give some asshole 600+ because they think because ibanez did a reissue that there guitar is worth double what it is worth. Even a beater goes for 500 now, its a fucking joke. I would gladly pay 300 for a beater 550. That would be ideal. Other than the reissues- there is no 550 worth 600 or more.

From my experiences the Edge 3 is shit. After a couple of month's it wears out and is rendered useless. I remember retuning every 3 minutes when playing. I got fed up and swapped the bridge out for an OFR. Now it's rare for me to retune, and it was a perfect swap. For 150$, it was completely fucking worth it.

I'm going to make this pencil disapper

The edge 3 and ofr are a perfect swap? Are you sure? I was under the impression that the ofr would not swap out perfectly with any ibanez trems.

its not
the lo-trs2 trems could be directly retrofitted with an ofr, the e3 is a bit different. i think the stud spacing is the same, but the ofr doesnt fit at one point or another along the outline

OFR is retrofit for the Lo-TRS tremspaces I think. I thought the Edge III routes would only be replaceable by a Edge Pro II or Edge Pro though. And I think some Gotohs too.

eh... fuck it. If I'm going to buy an rg I want one that has a trem that doesn't suck. The only money I want to out into it is a pickup swap. If the guitar sucks so bad that it needs a new trem I'm not interested.

Custom Ibanez RG550 DX Deluxe Purple Neon 18v EMGs - eBay (item 260207823034 end time Feb-03-08 18:00:00 PST)

Now that I read about what you think, I had 300 dollars in my PayPal so for an 18 volt, EMG equipped LTD discontinued Ibanez 550...I think I paid alright (365)

But in all seriousness, if you have maple Ibanez gas...there's no other guitar you CAN get, aside of that MDX...wait to see if a 550 comes online for a good price and SNIPE IT!

Also, the only PGM model I liked was the blue 90th--YIKES!
