The 121 is a great guitar. I played one for like an hour when testing the JSX before I bought it. Even the stock pickups sounded decent (for once), but yeah I'd toss in a TZ/AN combo or something like that. The neck is like butter. More tension than an SC, but it feels good.

Yeah, I'm still thinking about what to swap in. For the moment, I am content. Maybe Evo's? I've never heard them in Maple/Mohagany. I like hot pickups.

If I were to choose again, I'd go for the D Sonic in the bridge, which is supposedly somewhere between the Steve's Special and the Tone Zone, and the Air Zone in the neck, for that thick, jazzy sound.

Supposedly the Steve's Special is brighter.
I like it, though. But maybe a darker pickup would sound better, I don't know. It is way better than the stock V-8, though.
