One positive:

The Ravenwest headstock is my favorite headstock design ever. It's essentially an Ibanez headstock, but angled in just a way so that it's not; and I love it.

BRUTALIZER GUITARS is just really niceBRUTALIZER GUITARS is just really nice
Well I got a chance to play one of the RAVEN WEST neck thru teles at our local pawn shop and I was realy happy with it a few things I took note of bassed on every thing said in this thread

First of frets... WOW ok really bad but Ive seen and felt worse and the frets on the one I played could be cleand up very nicely

Plastic feeling neck... the one I played had an oil finish and I really liked the feel but I know thats a matter of preference

Dead tone... again the one I played sounded good BUT the amp I was useing was SHIT also I would change out the pickups but thats also just me

Cheap hardware... well yes and no given the cost of the guitar, tunners a big yes on thet one flat out CHANGE THEM but I cant say any thing about there trems because the tele is a hardtail, but I asume the trems would not be that great, but all n all not bad at all

A few things I really really liked, the body woods are really nice and the weight was good and it felt nice to hold

So I would say that if you wanted to try and get one than be ready to do a few things and factor in the possible changing out of the trem and the costs involed BUT I think that even after all that your going to get good axe

Im the kind of guy thats willing to do a few things to fix up a beater because I have fun doing it and I can get a great axe with out breaking the bank

P.S if you look at the pics on ebay they now say that "The guitar you see is the exact guitar your biding on"

LOL! The guitars I bought from them DID NOT match the ones that were pictured in their auctions. Mine had a gloss finish on the neck and it was so thick it felt like rubbing your hand on plastic. Maybe they've upped their production a little, but the QC was absolutely dreadful when I bought mine. One had a trem (garbage, like 100x worse than a TRS, wouldn't stay in tune no matter how long the strings had been stretched... I think the knife edge was fucked when I got it) and one with a TOM bridge and neither of them felt like swapping the hardware could fix the guitar into something decent IMHO. I play on a couple cheaper guitars that have upgraded hardware and pickups that sound and play fantastic, but I would not put Raven West guitars in that category. Never again for me...

P.S. It's also worth noting how many of their guitars are BLEMS too..... *sigh* Perhaps they sent me blem models even though I paid for non-blem models.

Word up, man. The one I had with a trem was a walnut Ibanez-esque 6'er in a satin finish (still didn't help the neck for me lol) and the other one was a PRS copy. The body on the PRS one looked like it had been cut from two 2x4's sandwiched together! Thick as a mofo yet somehow it was lacking sustain in the worst way!
