![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I am tuning one of my 6 stringers to an open E for some slide work. Any recommendations on a tuning? ![]() Thanks in advance! If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons? seems like you've already chosen one, you old geezer. Open G is the one I've tried the intuitively clicked the most for me - it just begs foor bluesy slide riffing - but honestly I play mostly in standard since I know it best. Just busting your balls. For acoustics I like tuning down, so I usually go to open-D (same tuning a step down) or open G. On the right guitar that could sound pretty huge too, so it's worth a try. But personally I feel like it's a shame to waste all the fretboard knowledge I have in standard, so I've been just trying to get a little better at muting so I can play slide comfortably in standard. I still suck, but I at least improvise more fluidly. ![]()

I am using a JEM777DY for this with the tremol-no installed. I need to for sliding big ole' country sounding chords during the lyrics, and then fill in leads. I need to find a tuning that does both well.
