![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Tomorrow... I agreed to bring in a guitar for my ear training and acoustics class. The instrument of choice ended up being my AF85 ( ) cuz its purdy, and not as heavy as a solid body. ![]() Unfortunately, this means i have to lug this big ol' hollow body in a hardshell case over to Manhattan. That wouldn't be bad, as it's only like 7 blocks to the subway, and then another 5 or 6 to school, except that i'll be riding during peak hours and the subway will be crowded as fuck. I'm not even sure if i'll get on the train, and it'll definitely be super hot in the car, but i won't be able to take my jacket off cuz i'll be EXTRA cramped with the guitar and my backpack (and my ukulele!). All in all, i think it's gonna be a pain in the ass. Was there a point in that story?yes. Aside from the fact i get to show off my "mad skillz" to my classmates... AFTER school i will be taking said guitar to a local luthier on my way home. once there, Mr. Fried and i will begun discussing the details of installing a new bridge + piezo system into my baby. I'm finally gonna make use of all four knobs on the damn thing, and i'll be able to get wonderful articulate clean rhythm sounds out of this baby without sacrificing the huge, fat, ballsy distorted sound i get when i plug this thing into the gain channel of a nice tube amp. Sufficeth to say, i am but a few hundred dollars and a few weeks away from making my first electric guitar (that i have any love for... fuck that squier) into my dream guitar. This has been an idea in the making for a few years now, and it's finally coming to fruition... I am so happy. -dAN (there would have been pics, but i can't find my effing camera cable and i don't have a card reader!) "I have a koala bear infestation in my apartment. It's the cutest infestation ever. Way better than cockroaches..." |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i totally got shut down. the TOM bridge w/ piezo from LR baggs is a 16th of an inch wider than the one i got on my guitar, so apparently that's no dice. and the Shadow piezo floating bridge is a single piece with the an acoustic type saddle, which i'm afraid would change my electric tone too much. i need a new option. There aren't any manufacturers that sell individual piezo saddles for ToM bridges? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | In Poland it's possible to buy individual saddles from Mayones (their Polish dealer) not always, but sometimes they have them as individual parts ![]() |
