My train was an hour and a half late. I'm not pleased.

However, there's something to fix my mood. A box!

Yessss.

Now I've got to open the beast.

Chuck! Do your thing!

Chuck fails me, so I fall back on my first guitar, my Gretsch.

It doesn't do much better, but I've heard these things work well.

That did the trick.

I command you! Rise!

Not happening. This thing's heavy and I don't have those powers. After a little digging, this is peeks through.

Out of it's box, I use those pointy things again to get the plastic off

Pretty. The case is still in really good shape.

Ein.

Zwei.

Und drei.

*drumroll*

Ibanez 520QS. Hawt. Me likey.

It even still has the instructional manual

Next day. Got a new CD in the mail

Time to do massive amounts of cleaning. I'm a guitar neat freak

Eww.

Taped up and ready for a fret polish

After Goo Gone, fret polish, some Q-tips and elbow grease, it's done.

Such a pretty quilt

Now I remember why I LOVE Ibanez guitars. The neck is awesome, it's comfortable to play, and the Floyd is awesome (as expected). I love everything about it.

I find taping the frets to be completely irrelevant when polishing frets, however. In six years, I did it once... then realized it was pretty pointless.

Just be careful with the steel wool. Rosewood is fairly robust, relative to something like fine steel wool. It also removes gunk, although a good board cleaning/polish does an even better bjob of that.
