That won't be too hard dude - changing pickups is easy stuff Toughest part is getting the wires right, and even that's not too bad...

I remember years ago when I put EMG's in my 90's RG570, I just used some of the foam from one of the boxes, wrapped it around the 9V battery and stuffed it in the electronics cavity...worked like a charm

DAMN YOU, I WANTED IT!!!!!!!!!

I was considering backing out of my deal for the RGT for this.

I call first dibs if you resell. That is, unless you want to trade for the RGT.

I'm sorry dude I didn't know you wanted it! Blah! I've been watching it for 2 days, haha. I will consider you #1 to resell to if need be.

I hope this guy packs it good.

And yeah, should be simple enough. Just have to get the pickups and a soldering gun and whatever other materials. Should I attempt to do the 18v mod with my first pickup change?

300 bucks won't set me really far apart, and if I do need the money, Mr. 1570'll take it off my hands. I really think this was a quality buy.

The only negative sideffect this can have is that I have to wait to buy an amp. And that's not even that bad, because I will be learning about amps in the meantime.

So overall, actually no, this is good.

With that big empty trem spring cavity, you've got LOADS of room for batteries!

I'd get rid of the locking nut and put some locking tuners on there. You'll be able to re-string and try alternate tunings much quicker than you can with the locking nut, and without needing any tools.

I hope so, I've heard great things about the 18V mod and would love to try it!

Hm...really? I never dealt with locking tuners before, are they more stable than locking nuts? Everyone says FR's with locking nuts are super stable. I know Broderick has a Lo-TRS or whatever with locking tuners, but he's God.

I dunno. 2 months and it won't matter, it'll be on SS.org's auction block or eBay for like 30 bucks.

They're in the RG1527 stock so I assume they're "decent" but a switch is imminent.
