Neal has a spectacular aura about
Question $1500 too much for a Gibson Les Paul Classic?

So I was shopping around for a fixed bridge dual humbucker six string and came across a purty Gibson Les Paul Classic 1960. Perfect burst finish, handwound Seymour Duncan Atiquity pickups. Was made the first year they did the Classic series, serial #69. Plays as good as my beat up old LP and looks way nicer. I usually think a grand is too much for any guitar (I payed $500 for my LP) but this one kinda gives me a boner.

Does anybody know of any issues with this series that I should beware of? If I get this thing I'll probably have to sell my JSX and my 6 string Ibanez. Just wondering what people think.

A classic '60 Les, worth 1500$ you ask!? Hell yeah man...in fact I think thats a bargain! Though I'm no expert!

Thats tuff if you have to sell your JSX for it though...ugh...that'd be a tuff decision.

No i don't think it worth it for a 6-string guitar. You can get a pimped out halo 8-string for that price.

You could get a stripped down KxK for a bit more, but i dont think thats the point of this thread.

Im actually not sure if its worth it or not. Whats the going retail market for these? I dont keep up on anything that isnt soemthing i've sold when i worked at the music store (we werent a gibson dealer) or 7 string.

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.
