It's an Ibanez catalogue from 1948, and a picture of Hoshino when he was 7.

Wow. Back in 1948, Ibanez was pronounced "Ibaniyezu" instead of "Aibaniizu" like it is today.

If I remember they originally picked the name because people in the US didn't think stuff made in Japan was half-decent.
