Help identifying my guitar

Okay, so when I moved recently, I found this guitar in my closet that I had almost forgotten that I had. I'd put it away after it took a knock and a couple of the toggles got snapped off. Well, last week, I decided to get it fixed because, hey, where the hell am I going to find another tiger striped guitar? It's an American made Jackson, and that's about all I know other than it (obviously) was made in the 80's, and it has a Kahler trem on it. When I picked it up today and tried it out, I discovered that it sounds a whole hell of a lot better than I remember. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what model it is. My main curiosity is what wood the body might be made of...it weighs twice as much as my other guitars. Sorry for the crappy quality of the pics, not to mention my ugly mug in a couple of them, but my digital camera is out of commission right now, so I had to use the web cam built into my computer. Any ideas of what it is, or where I could research it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. And now the pics...it came from the 80's! (Play some Stryper while you look at them).

I bet you the body is made of maple. Kind of a George Lynch vibe and would explain the weight of the guitar. Does the guitar sound really bright?

Yeah, it sounds pretty bright. I didn't really think about it until you asked, but I usually leave my tone knob turned all the way up, and this guitar doesn't even have one and sounds good to me.

It's a Dinky because it's a bolt on neck. As it's from the 80's, it'll be a custom shop. Production Jackson's didn't start appearing until the very late 80's or early 90's.

I actually did find a page on Jackson's site that allowed me to determine that it was made sometime between '87 and '89, but that's all I got.

Yep - I'd err towards earlier, since Jackson started using the JT6 around then, and Kahlers started disappearing. As for build wood, WO#, etc, that's usually in the trem cavity. Which is a little bit of a bitch for you to get to, since you need to remove the whole unit *and* it may not actually be in there. It's probably an early Ontario, it could be maple, mahogany, or even hard ash. Try the Jackson/Charvel Forum for more info.

Division - American metal that doesn't suck. Much. Even on MySpace, and Soundclick, too.

I can't help you ID that, but I can tell you that Donnie would probably trade you a kidney for it.
