Old Guitar Upgrade - Advice/Suggestions

Well in about a week I am going back home to Cleveland for vacation and a summer job. I wont be taking my RG7 with me and thus it will suck.

However I have my old old guitar still there from when I first got it. Here are some pics of it. I want to restore it to a player again.

Picture of the headstock - missing some strings.... those strings are like 5 years old.

Full body shot - might repaint it. Ideas on colors??Should I sand the body down and remake it as a Charvel or something?

Functional pickguard with what now looks like knockoff EMGs - except they are passives. They look to be the same size as normal passives. Maybe a set of older dimarzios in there - any ideas what?

Full Body shot

Thanks

damn, i have never seen a guitar with the neck bolts showing through the fretboard like that. I think EVH uses PAFs. I can't remember if those are from Dimarzio or Seymour Duncan. Another thing i would try to do is to find a neck with neck bolts in the rear. But, if that doesn't bother you, then that's cool. But, with something like this, it's an open canvas with what you want. Which is the way it should be. Do what you want and make it personal. Good luck!

We all need to be adopting green energy sources: solar, wind, alternative fuels. we only have one planet to live on.

Lol - it cost $25 back like 10 years ago when my folks thought my brother would be interested in a guitar. Yeah the bolts show through the fretboard but its not like you can touch them with a string.

I could but I still want to fix/upgrade this guitar for my younger brother to learn on and start jamming with me (yeah - prolly a long time before that happens).

First I wanna find the dimensions for the neck pocket and maybe get an ibanez or charvel neck for it. and then just drill through the body from the back and install it.

SHREDTOKILL is a jewel in the rough
i think you should get a reverse jackson style neck and then grab like a wilkinson or some sort of 2 point trem too throw in there.
then refinish and throw some new pickups in there, dude you could have like a brand new shredderrrrr

dude check out this neck .
24 frets, maple FB and its sexy as hell, would go perfect with that body.
