its a 59 in the bridge? man I thought it was supposed to be a JB
There is no way you could get the lamb of god sound with a 59 in the bridge.. they must use a JB but then for some reason put 59s in the Dominion we actually get to play.

I knew about the chambered bit.. I remember reading somewhere that Mark Morton wanted it to sound as much like a Les Paul as possible, without it being a les paul. The sound was big - cleans through the neck pickup on the roadster were definitely awe inspiring. If it had a JB in the bridge that thing would rock hard.

they are 59's. he pretty much designed a les paul with a different body and some choice features. His solos on the new album (if you've heard them) were mostly recorded with an old beat up les paul gold top, so I guess thats where the 59's came from. He's also got a blues side project so that's why the body is chambered and has coil taps. He basically wanted to make a limitless guitar. Works for me since I play very different styles

It has Duncan '59's. They're not metal pickups in the slightest, and they absolutely suck in the bridge. That is the first thing I would change. I seriously doubt that Mark uses those pickups.

To get the LoG sound with LoG settings on a Mark IV (from a pic I saw purportedly of their rig) you need a JB. Will Adler's sig from ESP uses the JB and I am almost certain that Mark used a JB in his dominion when I saw them live.
The SD website says that Morton and Adler use a lot of different pups.. but I would bet money their main axes both have JB bridge/59 neck

I actually had the chance to play this guitar yesterday during a short trip to Vancouver. Considering my personal tastes in a 6er (I fuckin love Les Pauls) I thoroughly enjoyed it; the neck was nice and fat, but due to the beautiful ebony board and flawless fret job it played just as quickly as a guitar with a comparitively smaller neck. The tone was full and cutting and I honestly had no trouble pulling lots of cut and sustain from the 59's. Very well balanced, flawless neck joint, and it had that one feature that's most important to me, a full blown vibe of it's own. It doesn't feel like a typical jackson or a gibson (although I've never had the opportunity to play any of the sweet tone series from jackson) it's one of those best of both worlds kind of deals. If the notion to pick up another 6 ever comes to mind this will surely be in top contention for myself.

Murder Soul can only hope to improve
So this basically has the tone of a Les Paul, without the weight? Kickass.
