Lo-trs ibanez swap

I have a RG470np with a LO-TRS trem and I would like to swap it out with a better trem. Is there a direct swap with another model trem?
I mostly have fixed bridge guitars so I dont know much about these at all! So any help would be great! Thanks Ziploc Matt

I want a ziploc rain coat. zepp88

im pretty sure you can get an original floyd rose to fit in there. ive got the lo-trs 2 and ive been told by many people over at jemsite and ibanez.com that it will be a direct swap.

How is the Original floyd better? Are the materials its made from better? Or just better by design?

its the original, its better by design, its just overall better. considered by man to be the best floyd trem out there. the lo-trs and lo-trs 2 are some of the cheapest peices of shit ever made.

Floyd restricts other companies from using everything that went into the OFR, no other floyd will have all of its features.

You've got your eyes closed
You look so pitiful now

Your body encrusted with ash
Breath heavy with toxins
Hair singed and matted
Clothes frayed and burnt

You are left with nothing

Actually, there isn't too much difference in design. the OFRs are made of hardened steel, the TRS stuff is made of much softer metals.

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.

AH I see, so you guys recommend that I change it out for an OFR trem then?!? Sounds like a good idea to me!

You could swap the TRS for a Floyd, but you could also swap this guitar for a 500 series or better RG which will have an Edge/Lo-Pro Edge. Those are on a par with a Floyd and it'd probably work out as being the cheaper option too.

I could do that also but I just got this guitar off of evilbay for really cheap! I got it to mod it out a little. The body has some dings in it and the color is dumb, so I wanted to get it to paint and try out different pickups and such! Just to play around with it. I did not want to mess up on one of my good guitars!!! I like them the way they are right now.

I think i'm going to try a swirl paint job on it - Orange and black - I have not seen one in those colors before

I have a Jem555 (yeah, yeah, save it ), when a saddle stripped out on me and I had a terrible time finding replacement parts I picked up an Edge trem off the bay. I had read over at jemsite that it would fit with only slight mods.

The only change needed was a slight bit of wood removed from the upper corner of the rear route (ie; top left of tiger claw with guitar standing on end). The amount of material removed was next to nothing.

The Edge doesn't sit as low as the TRS did so a neck shim was also necessary in order to get the action low enough.

If this is already a beater guitar you should have no worries about the slight bit of material that needs to be removed.

Hope that helps.
