Anyone play a Garrison Acoustic?

www.garrisonguitars.com

I played a 12 string version of their AG700 (Lefty, no less) in a store today. A damn nice instrument, and I almost walked out with her. Probably go back for another test drive later this week.

They're a Newfie based company I believe. (Newfoundland and Labrador for you yanks)

I haven't heard really anything about them before. Very nice acoustic I played though. Lefty 12 string with cutaway and electronics (Didn't check what brand pickups) Abalone inlays.

It was like, $799 CDN. I didn't want to throw that down without doing some research first though.

Picture that....but left handed....and a 12 string....with a cutaway.....

...They have a lot a variations.

POOF!

I have an older G40 model from before it came standard with an ebony bridge and fretboard, the thing sings. Even though it's not all that old it has a beautiful richness that usually comes with an aged acoustic. The bracing system in the guitar is very durable and makes it a rock during season changes. The neck I think is the greatest feature, an absolute breeze to play. I still want to try a true Japanese Alvarez Yairi to compare necks but the Garrison is shredderiffic as far as acoustics go.

They're made in Canada too! Do all us Canucks on the board a favour and support these kick ass Newfoundlander luthiers.

All I know is they can out-drink me on a regular basis so the must be good shit. Friendliest place on earth as far as I'm concerned...next to the special olympics.

NovaScotia owns the Newfs in kindness.

And bring them to Halifax, and see how they stand up in a drinking contest. They're like newfs without the helmets.
