I actually think these are kinda sick in a good way, but will only look such if they're lit up in the dark. Otherwise they look a bit silly.

If it's not that great looking, at least it's a great concept.
imo, it's better with that light on.

Lit up, it looks awesome, until it's very dodgy. The only thing I really like about it is the clear body that lights up green to be honest. If it had the black/green pickup combo and green vine of the GMC I'd love it. In fact, if it was a GMC clone but with the clear body instead of black and not priced at a stupid amount I'd be interested.

would the cost of having a cast body like that be considerably lower? It's not like finding and constructing with great pieces of wood, right?

Just pour some synthetic into a mold, select from the stockpile of the same old vine necks that have been around for a while for no more than 300, nice pick ups for 150, a good bridge and tuners for 300, and bam - a sig for 750?

Haha.

I wouldnt say its lower than building a wooden body, but its still ridiculously low. They are making HUGE profits on this. Steve is too, he probably gets $100 for each one, so if they sell 500, he stands to make $50,000.

Basically, they pour acrylic resin into the mould, and as they are doing it, they make a few passes with some dispensers of coloured paint. There is some small machining work for things like the jack socket cavities, and probably under and hour assembly work.

The neck is EXACTLY the same neck that is on the 7VBK

It looks really nice in person! I am more interested in hearing what those new pickups sound like. The new VBK is very nice, as well.
