My cousin (the coolest cousin in the world by the way) gave me this as a graduation/birthday present. He bought the parts, painted it, assembled it, and did the custom decal on the headstock. Without further ado, here are the specs:
Body: Swamp Ash Neck: Maple Fretboard: Pao Ferro Scale: 25.5" Hardware: 4 way toggle switch, volume knob, tone knob, Sperzel locking tuners, 22 frets, Schaller Security Lock, sunken input jack. Things I don't know: What pickups were used. The pin striping was done by Jim Carmickle over in Western Washington. Sound: It sounds god-awful with distortion, at least for metal it does. But you flip that toggle switch all the way up and it sounds like I have an acoustic guitar coming out of my cabinet. It has a very warm tone, and every note is crystal clear in a chord or arpeggio. The neck is not very fast at all; this guitar seems more like one that you'd play when you're in a really chill mood. It implies a bit more in the way of melody rather than just burning through scales and sweeping them arpeggios. I'll be uploading a sample to my soundcloud here in a few days, but I want to get the feel of it a little more before I do. I would also like to apologize for the picture quality in advance since I am not a photographer at all. Hey, he's a cool guy. What can you do?
Anyways, here's the sound demo of it: Closing Time by Flying Monkey Death Poop on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free I tried to get a couple different tones out of it, but I think it will mainly be a clean guitar. You should take more advantage of the Tele spank. Give it just enough volume to distort a bit when you really dig into the strings. In my opinion, that's the sweet spot for telecasters.
That being said, that's one hell of a present. |

Thanks for the advice. This is my first real guitar with a single coil pick up so I have no idea how to make it sing. I think I'll get the feel for it in a few weeks though.
