Drool, GAS

Ibanez RG Texas Special Prestige - Rare - Excellent Condition | eBay

Hardly ever see any of these up for sale, but these are one of my favorite non-J Custom guitars ever. The only one I'd rather have is the PR1(natural gloss finish with gold hardware and H-H pup config).

They're pretty rare, they only made 12 each of the PR's(1,2,3). They're known as Texas Prestige's because they made those 12(36) for Guitar Centers in Texas.

They're on par with J Customs. I compared my friend's PR1 to my 3120 and as much as I loved my 3120 it was so much nicer-loved the pearl gold hardware, ebony board and the purfling.

Bastard sold it(got ....ed by a shop in Houston, only gave him $500) to get his first PRS. I wish he would have called me, I'd have bought it and named it my precious.

I read Texas Special and thought "Oooooo."

I saw it and was disappointed. I find it gaudy.

Too pink. Too much dead shellfish adorning it.

Do not want.

Someone had to say it, right?

I was expecting a fender with a rg body pretty much single coils, vintage trem, and all the awesome stuff. (other then string trees)

Je ne peux pas parler français! aider?

The only things I don't like about that particular one is the finish and the single coil.

Much prefer the PR1's-even if they are a bit gaudy.

For their cost and appointments, ibanez has some really shitty tops on their upper end models.

That ones actually one of the best I've seen from ibanez.

Yeah, I agree with that. I lucked out on my 3120, got a very nice top. It was somewhere between and quilt and a flame. I loved it. I've seen plenty tops on those(including the stock picks on ibanez.com) that looked quite terrible.

My 3120 neck has a better flame than many of the tops on some of the guitars.

I was thinking the same thing. All you need is an expensive pink handbag with a chihuahua in it and you're set.

I had the red one before, and it was one of my top 5 guitars to date.

Anyway, that dude is asking way too much money for that thing.

Only got to play one of these and they are pretty much on par with the J-Customs. Not many people know about these, and he is asking a bit much IMO, hence why it has been for sale for so long.

Some favorites: Caparison Angelus HGS/Customs, Mayones Regius', Dingwall ABZ, Blackmachine B6/B2 and a Carvin CT6. My own little favorite slice of heaven.

I definitely wouldn't pay 800 over what they were new 12 years ago. The last time I saw a PR1 sell it went for around $1600.
