NGD - Flamesuit on?
So, I've been wanting a semi-hollow body for ages for some lighter rock. Found an add for this yesterday, and for 250 with an hardcase, gibson USA pickup and grover tuners, it was a no-brainer for me.
It appears to have been barely played. Also has the plastic on the plate at the bottom of the neck. Now, I'm not exactly a blink 182 fan. I like one of their songs (Stay together for the kids). But I do like the simplicity of the guitar. Just arrived with it home, so no review yet. ![]() ![]() BTW: having a backplate is a plus! Will make any mod much easier. Thinking of adding at least a coil split push-pull on the volume pot. |

Used to like Blink 182, they've written some great hits, but this guitar is even nicer.

Cool guitar. Two good things about this guitar is the back plate and that it really isn't a blazing sig. For me, no neck pickup is a total deal breaker, especially on a semi-hollow. That is what prevented me from getting one in the past.

I'm cool with no neck pickup, I've got other guitars and some have great neck pickups
![]() Would fancy a Casino with p90s tho. And a full hollow. GAS... |

Thanks guys
![]() Yeah, I should have said a full-size full-hollow jazzbox, like a White Falcon (out of reach)It's funny that I GAS as much for hollow guitar as for RG7s, jaguars, etc. I think I like almost every guitar. |

Thanks man.
Action was a mile high. I lowered it alot, and will more when I replace the strings. Also tightned the truss-rod 1/4 turn. Will see how it settles. It also has the plastic on the rear control plate. Strings are very rusty. Hardcase still smells like new. The seller mentioned he is a bass player, so my guess is he bought it to see if he liked playing guitar. Since the ES aren't the most ergonomic guitars and with the messed up action, he probably loosed interest very quickly and set it aside. As for the guitar itself, going to it from the LP, it feels fragile! I think it's due to several factors, mostly it feeling and sounding hollow (duh), lighter weight, satin finish VS gloss on the LP (makes the ES feel more "woody") and me knowing that it is MIC. |

That is a beauty! Who cares if it was cheap, a guitar is a guitar and if you like it, that's all that matters!

I bitch about specs like everyone else, but if I had the guitar in my hands I would most likely play it and enjoy it. I don't like cheapo pointy metal guitars, like the bolt-on, graphic-finish BCRs and Deans and what have you, and nor do I particularly like stuff with Bigsbys or Floyds, but if it's set up well then .... it, I'd go for it and enjoy it. I was up on Denmark Street (street in London with loads of guitar shops) the other day and played a Fender Jaguar thinline, and a Mustang, as well as an LTD Horizon, and I liked all of them. Particularly the Jag, that was REALLY nice. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out my YouTubings by making clicks upon this most generously provided link: http://www.youtube.com/user/ConnorFGuitar?feature=mhee You can thank me later. Please, don't talk to me about Jags... That Johnny Marr white sig would look great aside the ES-333...

Great guitar and very classy. How can you not like Blink 182??

Thanks guys. I like the one song I posted, it's emotional. Most of the rest sound too fast and messy, the kind of teenage energy I don't feel anymore. Hard to express in English. I like what I've heard of Angels and Airwaves tho (which wasn't much).
Yeah, I'll take pics/record the mods, but the RG7s will most likely be modded first. Last edited by metale; 06-10-2012 at 12:47 PM. Reason: added quote |

^ Jag thinline must be pretty rare... I've got a thing for thinline tele's for trad music, the jag must've been fun!
Seeing the DeLonge (?) sig reminded me of the torment of repairing an early Jap ES-175 copy. *tears of abject misery* Much time was spent using string an wire to manipulate the pots and controls back into their cavities, without the all important backplate! *shakes fist at obvious design flaw* ![]() Congrats on the NGD, Metale! |

No need for a flamesuit my friend, we don't get nearly enough semi-hollows in this neck of the woods.

I'm probably missing something here but why would that awesome guitar require a flame suit? That's a sexy axe sir! HNGD!!!

I love those guitars based on looks alone as I've never actually played one. Tom Delonge's signature Strat was pretty killer too, I always wanted one of those.

Thanks for the comments, guys! It did get some heat on the mylespaul forums, I think mainly because it isn't a gibson with some $500 PAFs. Also, Slash does not play it ![]() I have to get strat-locks for it, all my guitars have them, I don't even have a strap without them so I can only play the ES sitting until I get them fitted. I need to stop getting guitars and start investing on my recording setup I'm up to 8 guitars now, and don't even play on a band anymore, or have something worthy of playing them through

Nothing wrong with a signature guitar, really.
I was GASing hard years ago for one of the old Tom Delonge Strats, simply because that's all I would personally want in a Fender Strat. I'm over it now, but people generally assume that if you play a sig guitar, you're a fanboy. (Although that is true for my LTD WA-600) |

Nice score. Nothing like a 335 with a hot pickup in the bridge. I prefer a neck pickup, but for $250 case in, I woulda hit that also.

Very cool guitar. I used to love blink 182 so the fact that it is a Tom Delonge sig wouldnt bother me at all (it shouldnt bother you either). I used to own a TD strat and I loved that guitar. Congrats on the new guitar day!!
My main setup: Ibanez uv7bk green dot, Engl fireball 60, genz benz g flex 2x12. |
