NGD: Jackson SLS3

Just got this guitar last week and put in new pickups today. It came stock with a set of cream/black Seymour Duncan '59's. I swapped them for white DiMarzio Dominions. Here are some pics:

Really like that! Been thinking about getting just that model as a back-up to my TAT.

How's the neck? How do you like the Dominions?

The neck is great. It's very similar to my Jackson SL2H. It's quick, but still feels substantial.

The Dominions are my new favorite pickups. They are the tightest sounding, quickest responding pickups I've ever used. Chords are very clear, and they hold up well to any amount of gain. I've tuned down to C Standard with them and the clarity is great. Single notes cut through well and still have plenty of meat. Harmonics and pick squeals are easy and sound great.

Clean tones are great as well. When I installed the Dominions I swapped the 3 way blade switch for a 5 way and in set positions 2 and 4 to be coil tapped bridge and coil tapped neck. The tapped sound of the Dominions is great, and pulls off convincing Strat sounds. This is my most versatile guitar at the moment.

Those are really fantastic guitars. I regret not getting one when I had the chance. Congrats! Thanks for the review on the Dominions, too. Really interested in those.

SLS is one of the best Jackson designs ever.

I wouldn't need any other guitar.

The only bug for me is that headstock, don't dislike them as such, just prefer the pointy.
But it is a Jackson, so you are a legend for buying one, congrats.

The bloodline is strong in this one

If only Jackson decided to make SLS3 with 7 or 8 strings, it would be a huge commercial success... Great purchase my friend!
