NGD Ibanez EGEN8 (56K=Haters(JK))

I've always thought to myself that signature guitars were just unnecessarily overpriced and just something slightly different from a mass model and told myself I'd never get 1...but the EGEN8 is just too gorgeous. I quite honestly don't even like Dragon Force or Herman Li (though I do respect them somewhat), but I just loved how the guitar looks!

I chose this over an RG premium, and I plan to change the pickups to something Dimarzio...been looking at the Tone Zone, Air Norton, and Evolution pups.

Enough of my words heres pics

tl;dr I still think its overly priced but damn do I love it.

The more expensive ones are. The EGEN8 was made to be a bit cheaper.

One of the hottest looking Ibanez models in recent years, IMO.

Congrats, man.

I really wish they scalloped the last few frets like on the other egen, I really love the natural finish and super S concept.

Congrats.

I wish I could afford it, but at the price I'd rather get a John Petrucci sig or PRS.

and I use it all the time to carry around the guitar haha, but when I play not very much but I have yet to really "shred"

Also I got this guitar more on the fact Nita Strauss had 1 than the fact it was a Herman Li sig

Because, why not?

Just aesthetic I suppose, or maybe Herman likes carrying around his guitars on the top horn, either way, life's to short to be ordering boring signature guitars

Congrats! It is a pretty cool looking guitar. BTW- Have you heard the band Pathfinder? The guitar playing sounds really Dragonforce-y but in my opinion about a million times better.

I have not but sounds interesting...I'll look them up!

Just a little review after playing with it all day.

It's built very nicely, quality is superb, and it's just beautiful to look at from every angle.

Play-ability wise it plays about as nice as my LTD MH-1000 and yeah pretty good shredding machine.

Tone is nice for what it is and I can get a lot of different sounds, but still thinking of changing the PUPs. They are definitely better than other Ibanez stocks I've played though!

It stays in tune relatively nice with the Edge III but was so much work and pain to set it up properly and definitely hate dealing with it, but it gets the job done.

The only issue I have with it is that the volume knob is in a terrible spot and very "loose" so I keep turning the volume down on accident, and the fact I'm not used to HSH-config makes the middle pup slightly annoying lol

more pics so thin <3

First time i've seen one of these pop up on here as long as i've been here. They really are great looking guitars, no matter what you think of Dragonforce.
