New Les Paul Standard and Studio
I really dig the changes on the LP standard. The things sounds really versatile. It also seems like they have a real rosewood board. (Instead of the paper mache one )

Played a Standard that came into work yesterday and it was the thinnest LP neck I've ever felt. Played pretty well. Had a rosewood board.
Gibson e-mailed us ahead of time to let the employees know of the changes to both models. Weird for a company that doesn't give a shit.

Wow. Very cool.
I'm really intrigued by the compound radius neck they're now offering. I'm a little disappointed it's not 12" - 16", but eh. and FINALLY... locking tuners. Welcome to the new millennium, Gibson. It's nice for you to have finally joined us. |

Very cool, this last year or so Gibson has finally come to their senses a bit. I'm eyeing a Les Paul Traditional at my local store myself, satin Honey Burst with a zebra Burstbucker/490R set. Best Les Paul I've played since probably 2008.

The new standard is pretty intriguing. Compound radius and locking tuners is pretty cool for a gibson. Now if the price tag was a little bit more down to earth we could talk.

^this. I've been dying for a heritage cherry LP ever since I saw my first Les Paul. I'm all about versatility via push/pull knobs. I wouldn't be surprised if we're looking at one of the better iterations of the standard.

just checked Gibson's site and on the specs you can read "modern weight relief" and actually has a pic of it... weird... better than chambering though...

I like the tighter (smaller) compound radius boards. Every suhr I have played had one. Wish it was 10-14, but good job gibson on getting all modern on us. The 16 in radius always feels a little too flat under my fingers.
