Great guitars if you can find them for around $250. Not sure what you are looking for as to what spec's they have, but they should be mahogany body, jumbo frets, and I'm pretty sure they have EMG HZ's instead of active EMG's.
Essentially, they are they same guitar as the LTD 1000 series, minus the glitzy abalone and EMG's. If it means anything to you, I believe the older 301's were also Korean made, not Indo made like the newer ones. My friend has had just about every level of the LTD series. Personally, I think the anything above the 300 series is very good quality with excellent bang for your buck. |

I compared a 301 to a newer 1000 series Viper and found the 301 to be a better guitar personally. (excluding pups)

They're really good, I'm actually selling one at the moment for a great price with EMGs and a hard case. But honestly they're really good guitars.

I loved my Viper 400...thing sounded beastly for a mid range guitar. I just could never get used to the factory location for the strap button. Always seemed to throw the guitar off balance sort of.
I ended trading it straight up for a EC1000....think i got the better end of the deal on that one. |
