Just 185 of the replicas -- including faux worn wood and cigarette burns -- will go on sale in the United States, at Guitar Center stores. The retailer paid $959,500 for Blackie at a 2004 auction that benefited Clapton's Crossroads rehab center in Antigua. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the replicas will also go to Crossroads, according to a Guitar Center statement.
1.) Fuck Guitar Center.

2.) How much of a percentage? If like $20k is going to Crossroads that's one thing, but...

Personally, I like BinaryToxin's suggestion. That's why I let Chris play my Strat.

Chris is never going to hear the end of that...

As for the guitar, for that price it better include a really hot chick that moves in for at least a week or two and doesn't know what the word no means.

Yeah, 24k is a LOT for any guitar. But it's not like you'll be losing money if you decide to sell it. Some people put their money in the bank, some people invest in stocks, paintings and whatnot. And some people invest in guitars. Those Blackie replicas are instant collector's items and I'm betting their value will skyrocket after the last one has been sold.

I think fender has made a sweet deal, every fucking music/guitar/studio forum is talking about this guitar, this must be one of the best advertising I´ve ever seen.

I'd like to elaborate on this first point:

1.6) Fuck Eric Clapton

1.8) Fuck Fender.

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.

If that is the case, then it depends if it is Bluesbreaker and Cream era throw down like a mother fucker Clapton, or After Midnight The Way That You Use It Tears in Heaven era put you to sleep Clapton.
