| So the cowfister hasnt emailed me back yet =// screw him then Hey.. You know how the lower grade guitars have apparently "Photo" quilt finishes... How difficult would that be to replicate? and how would I go about doing it (find a big fake image of quilted maple and print it out on sticky vinyl or something kinda like a decal and clear over it or something???) Because I am thinking of buying a neckthru blank and attempting to build my own guitar, but the main thing that concerns me is intonation and finishing, but if I get neckthru, It might be abit easier to adjust the intonation (no shims/pocket to worry about) so then its just the damn finish.. But really considering trying it right now |

| Yea I was wondering if the fabric one would be similar.. but since veneer's are pieces of paper, not fabric. would be different The thing is, maybe Rob was on to something, because I initially tried doing a quilted maple veneer finish on a guitar body before, but the stuff I bought, it was like not flat, it was wavy.. Now I dunno if that is because it was cheap crap, or if thats how all Quilt veneers are, Wavy and not smooth like flamed.. Hmm Well first off, I need to decide if I really wanna take the risk of buying a neckthru with the chance of fucking it up.. lol |
