Help me pick a guitar to buy with the ss.org donation money

ok. so im sure everyone here knows what happened, and thall to everyone for the support and wonderful guidance and insight, without you guys i would prolly be in jail myself and have a ruined family. on to business

so in total the donations equaled a little over $900.00

so i have about $800.00 to spend.( im keeping $140. for shipping, strings, possible pickup, etc.)

FRED BRUM has loaned me his green dot until i can replace mine (around income tax) so my uni is covered.
now i have to replace my 777vbk

i am seriously considering a sims custom lng jem on this forum in the for sale.
it will cost all $800 and my rg7620 in trade. now i dont want opinions on patrick sims or his business practices!!!

what i do think would be fun. would be for the ss.org community to help pick the donation guitar, should it be the lng? or something else? im replacing a 6er but a really nice 7 is NOT out of the question , but it MUST be IBANEZ

keep in mind im replacing a jem so im not really looking for a modded 350dx, or a 7620. BUT it would also be cool if i find a members guitar and keep the $$ in the circle. im REALLY considering that LNG SIMS. but i would be losing another guitar in the deal when the point of this is to replace a guitar.

so there we have it! do YOU have an idea on what i should do or get? do YOU already have the guitar and want to sell it?

i like ibanez, i like 6ers and 7s. really like baritones. PREFER older models(late 80s early90s square heel) , newerprestige, etc.

I fourth this mention, however I would not invest in the sims since you might want to later on (re) acquire a real uni. That's my view and you know it!!

I understand that uni or jem do not grow on trees and are pricey.

Also take your time....

I am so glad that the community has come together like this, and seeing as it wasn't payday till today, how/where can I put in my contribution? won't be huge, but every bit helps

And as ralphy said, how did the aftermath of the "event" go?

the kid is doing good. WE are in counseling. he is also on a reward system. for evey week he is "good" he gets something back or can talk to a friend, etc. we havent been to court over the whole thing yet, so no idea on judicial punishment yet.

as for fixing my jem and uv. they are kinda beyond repair.

greendot- back of neck is dented and dinged, fretboard is dented and dinged, both trem studs and anchors are ripped from the body and trem is sitting "sideways" . paint is ruined but sucked anyways (this is the one i bought in person from ken sorceron)

jem- paint is ruined, looks like someone stood over it with coffee mugs and just started dropping them (dings through paint into wood). high side trem stud pulled from wood and trem sitting sideways, cracks in the neck going vertical at the lockingnut, body cracked in half underpaint, dents and dings in back of neck, dents and dings in fretboard.

yes they could be fixed by buying new bodies, having them painted, and having all the dings in the neck filled with wood filler and sanded. but then i would have 2 replacement bodied guitars with necks that have filler all over them and fretboards with filler.

so it wouldnt really be "worth" fixing and i would be left with "mutt"guitars with visibly filled necks.

I have an unpainted RG565 body from Sims (ash, square heel, edge lopro) at Elysians house that id sell for $115 shipped if you are interested. Going direct with Sims would probably take like 8 months+ lol I have no use for it unfortunately being a 100% Carvinite now, its been sitting at Adams for over a year.

You ought to be patient and see what Ibanez drops on us this year imo. We're already seeing some nice leaks via Max's thread. You might be able to swing a new prestige or something in the next few months.

Just my two cents on it.
