I Fell in love with fixed bridges...need recomendations, NAAAAW (please :3)
well, a few days ago I had a gig, but minutes before the whole thing started I broke a string, so a friend lend me this (and he told me that I could keep it for a few days)
![]() ![]() LTD H-351 the thing is: I LOVE THIS SHIT, specially the Bridge (I currently have a Dean Vendetta 4.0 with a Floyd) but it is becoming a pain in the ass that I could only play in Standard, also shredding above the 17 fret is pretty hard so I will sell my Dean (I can sell it for about 1.000-980 US here) and buy something from the US, so can you guys name similar guitars to this one? (feeling of the guitar, not the shape or sound of it, V's and extreme shapes are welcome, LP's not, also i don't care about the brand) to have more than one option? also, I was thinking about getting a Seven and a Sixer for 400-500 each recomendations of importers would be apreciated too thanks

Yeah, fixed bridge guitars are pretty much awesome.
![]() I'd suggest an LTD MH-1000NT. Or the LTD H-1001. Not the new one, though. Get one a couple of years old. Not too old, though. Don't want that ugly cockstock... :P You can find one of these for $400-500 used. Ibanez RGA121 is another nice one. You can find them used for around the same price range. Also, a good site for searching for used instruments: jaXed Instruments |

beauty! every day i find myself loving my LTD guitars more and more :-)
Suggestion for new guitars that are similar? Well most LTD's guitars are going to have a similar feel so you probably can't go wrong with almost any model they make, excluding perhaps their 'traditional' series guitars or guitars that are more 'vintage' styled. Other brands you can try Schecter (although after playing an LTD neck I find it extremely difficult to transition to a Schecter). Jackson Soloist maybe? |

Ibanez RGT6EXFX is pretty sweet. I love it. String through with neck through, nice. It is, however, black. Very black. Which suits me fine but around here, you may as well regularly murder kittens and throw their heads at grannies while doing burn-outs on the front yard. It just ain't (apparently) done.
You know, I'm not going to hate or target you for neg. rep. if you leave your name. I'm sure I can find plenty of other reasons to hate ![]() Stop calling it detuned. It's tuned, just not to standard. It's not a ....ing DeVries. |

Currently in progress of replacing every guitar I have...piece by piece - "Unfortunately, our ability for rational thinking is inversely proportionate to our desire to stick our dicks into orifices." - pink freud - "I don't have all the answers to everything, I'm not God, when I get girls pregnant they aren't virgins anymore." - scottro202 |

Jackson:
SLS3/SLSMG SL2HT DKMGT COW I would recommend trying to track down a Washburn X-35. Not too expensive but they sound great and are very comfortable to play. EDIT: I am also quite fond of the Schecter Artist III and Solo-6 Custom. Check them out. Goffammit, smelling is heart. |

If you like the guitar you're borrowing, then get the closest model to it.
My friend has an H-401(?) and I do plan on taking it from him haha |

Closest you'll get to an LTD is an LTD. That model has a Thin U neck contour and is a set through neck
So my advice is to get an LTD. Check out the old LTD H-300 (same as a 400 series but neck through). These pop up on Ebay for pretty cheap... around $200-300 US. Plus it has the good ole 'cock stock" headstock, a token ESP design lol. It may be a Tone-Pros style stop bridge though and not a string through. I forget which. You could also try and locate the Stephen Carpenter 6 string LTD's. Same as the H series but with a tele style control layout and string through. The EC and Viper series LTD's also have the Thin U neck contour. Close second is the Schecter guitars. They're popular for a reason but I find the neck to be a little to chunky for my preferences, as I've been using the ESP LTD MH series exclusively for years. But I did play a Schecter Devil Tribal Elite before I switched to ESP. |

The bridge and tailpiece on our new GV series is pretty damn cool. Vigier G.V. Metal | Vigier USA
My suggestion is to look for anything that is tone-pros style in that it everything locks so you don't have to worry about everything falling off/having intonation problems every time you change strings. I recently started seeing the value in hipshot-style fixed bridges as well (like the one on the RG7321). They're easy to use and are way comfortable. My old thinking was that if you were going that route, then why not have the trem and use a tremol-no, but I'm coming around on that in terms of tone and simplicity. |

I guess it depends on what the tax/shipping/availability is like in Chile too. A lot of the guys are posting about the differences between ESP LTDs and the Schecters....
I can say I've played both-owning an ESP LTD EC-1000 and personally, I couldn't stand the necks on the Schecters I've picked up since. Props for going fixed bridge though- I've always steered clear of anything beyond hipshots. Oh but if you're looking for a good seven at 400-500 USD, have you looking at Agile guitars? |

*ahem*
/FT Jackson COW 6 Desert Camo (US) ![]() Ok spam aside, you can find some really good examples of hardtail guitars for a decent price, but what about just blocking the trem with a TremStop or Tremel-No? In fact some guitars are made with the Floyds dive-only so you don't even have to block them, just tighten the clamp/springs and that's it. Something to consider if you feel your options are limited. Now back to that COW... |
