There are many places online that sell build plans for guitars, including a Les Paul. You'd still need to make templates using the plans, but it's good start in that respect.
I'd also suggest that you check out a site like projectguitar.com which has tutorials and a forum with epic build picstories from people of varying skill levels. It goes a long way to show how there are many ways to do the job right, but none of those ways look particularly easy. An LP might not be a good guitar to start with if you don't have any woodworking experience, due to the carved top, set neck, and neck tilt, but good luck! "I like Christian rock. It's very positive. It's not like those real musicians who think they're so cool and hip." -George Costanza |

Not exactly a "Do-Yourself-It" starter guitar, lots of complications by design.
Buy a used 70s or 80s japanese Les Paul, much cheaper and solid guitars. |

The Ultimate Question: What string gauge is needed for 18.84# of tension when tuned to E2 on a 27" scale guitar?

I was wondering if anyone saw that.Anyway, if you want a high quality guitar but you really want to do it yourself, go Warmoth. They've got incredible "in-stock" bodies and are very high quality. Not the cheapest route, but definitely beats the actual Gibson prices. If you just want an inexpensive LP, and don't want to necessarily build it, +1 to the Agile. Can't beat it for price. |

Gibson doesn't even make neck-through LPs. Well, at least not traditionally. They're set-neck.

get an agile, or a build it yourself kit from gfs
I like my guitar tone like I like my women, perfect rounded bottom end, cut in the mid section, heavy on the top end, and super tight. Omnium - Atmospheric/Trance/Ambient |
