I think you mis-read what I typed senor. I waited 2.5 and they told me THEN it was ....ed and they wanted to start over. I then waited a few weeks (think it was almost another 2 months at that point) and asked them for a status and it had not even hit finish yet. I said .... it and canceled. I've gone through the build process with Carvin several times, some times it has been smooth sailing and others (like that one in particular) have been a nightmare.

did you get a refund by any chance?

SirMyghin: i havent' tried it. but even if i do try one, i'd be kissing the 10 day trial good bye EVEN if its a standard finish and no option 50s used. reason being, i'll have the guitar shipped to my cousins across the border....

which carvins do you have again?

IMO Carvin's "signature" finish is the Umber stain with Sunset Burst edges. Like this:

The faded denim one is nice and certainly unique.

Not if different pickups are what you need to get the sound you want.

Yes I did. They have that policy in place that states if you cancel an order halfway through the build that you would only get part of your money back, but since it was over 4 months of waiting and on the 2nd build they gave me a full refund. Typically, that would not have been the case but under the circumstances they agreed it was okay.

i wonder what became of that guitar that they messed up on.
if its a structural problem (maybe the neck warped), then they would cut off the guitar in pieces. but if its a finish problem, they would just sand it down and go over? :S
